BORN AT DAWN MUSE: MARIANNE FAITHFULL

Marianne Faithfull, the 60s icon is this week’s inspiration for her unique and original style during this era.

She always looked great but like she had not overthought or spent too much time on it. She made her look her own- rock and roll and slightly dishevelled. Her defined eyes and fringe were her strong signature look and she often wore oversized sunglasses, hats, leather trousers and fur.

She first came into the spotlight in 1964 for her singing when at a Rolling Stones Launch party where she was discovered and signed to a label.
Her life became a whirlwind after this point, she fell in love with Mick Jagger, left her husband, started taking drugs and her life unravelled. She eventually ended up being homeless living on the streets for 2 years as an addict.

Luckily she got back on track and started to make music again at the end of the 70s and has continued to do so to this day. She also acts- our favourite role was when she played God in “Absolutely Fabulous”! Her style has evolved over time and these days she says she likes to wear lots of black as she loves its anonymity.
