In an piece by Sarah Biddlecombe for Stylist Magazine (full article here), she explains that the kakeibo journal is a traditional Japanese journal but works as almost a bullet journal to organise your finances.
At the beginning of the month, you sit down with your journal and reflect and plan your finances by considering the below questions:
1) How much money do you have available?
2) How much would you like to save?
3) How much are you spending?
4) How can you improve?
It all sounds so simple doesn’t it but with the whirlwind of our busy modern lives, it’s easy to forget to take the time out to do this unless you are in a routine of doing so. The Kakeibo approach reminds you to to concentrate on your finances at regular intervals which can surely only be a positive thing.
Have any of you tried the Kakeibo approach? Or do have any other techniques or tips you use to budget and manage your money that work for you? If so…please share on the comments below. We would love to hear from you x
