Good Morning! We are bringing a ray of sunshine to your Monday with the lovely Zoë from DRESS LIKE A MUM who is our BORN AT DAWN FOCUS for this week. We love how she always brightens our Instagram feed with her massive smile and identifiable style.
Zoë started DRESS LIKE A MUM after having her daughter as she noticed that many of the mothers she spoke to struggled with their fashion identity after having children and felt like they had to change the way they dress.
She inspires mums to experiment and try new shapes, trends and styles. We love her advice about not saving your best for best, encouraging women to work their favourite special pieces into their everyday outfits to make the most out of them and decrease their cost per wear.
We asked Zoë a few questions about her life…
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Fair, fun and chilled (I think!) ~
What makes you happy?
Spending time with my kids and family. My work and what I’ve achieved with DRESS LIKE A MUM makes me happy - I love doing it. So does having fun with friends, dancing, snowboarding and festivals - loads of things make me happy, overall I’m a pretty happy person!
Who and what inspires you?
People who work hard, mothers/fathers getting on with it, motivated people who have followed ideas and dreams and made them happen.
How do you personally define success?
If you are leading a happy life, on your terms (as much as possible), how you want to live it, then I think that is success.
You are obviously very busy, how do you cope and manage to juggle it all?
I'm not sure if it is so much juggling as never stopping.
I’m busy… I actually don't know how or when I could be busier. I work hard every night and weekend but I love my work and my family so I have had to learn how to prioritise and just do the important stuff.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given along the way?
Don't sweat the small stuff.
What’s been your biggest lesson?
To be grateful, not wish time away and always strive to be a good person.
