BORN AT DAWN MUSE: CHRISTY TURLINGTON

This week our BORN AT DAWN muse is Christy Turlington. Born in California in 1969, she was discovered by a local photographer whilst out riding a horse age 14. She moved to New York aged 18 and starting modelling, eventually becoming one of the “Supers” of the nineties and part of the “Trinity”, along with Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista.
Her success grew and grew and she has been on the cover of over 500 magazines throughout the years.

Synonymous with BORN AT DAWN’s effortless approach to dressing, her signature style has always included denim, breton stripes, longline coats and blazers and tailoring.

As well as inspiring us with her style, she inspires us with her fantastic work for charity. After suffering complications in her own 2003 childbirth with a postpartum hemorrhage, and upon learning that over 500,000 women die each year during childbirth (of which 90% of the deaths are preventable), Turlington was inspired to pursue a Master's degree in Public Health. She started to work with CARE as an advocate for maternal health and founded the non-profit organisation ‘Every Mother Counts’ which aims to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for all mothers across the world. A truly worthy cause…
